Climate change is increasing the risk of dengue and other mosquito-borne disease. Warmer temperatures are expanding habitats for mosquitoes and putting millions more people at risk. - World Health Organization said on August 6.Dengue has three main risk factors, these are: Rainfall, Temperature and unplanned rapid urbanization.
In the Philippines the DOH listed the following regions with the most dengue cases, 1. West Visayas region - 23,330 cases2. CALABARZON - 16,515 cases3. Zamboanga Peninsula - 12,317 cases4. northern Mindanao - 11,455 5. SOCCKSARGEN - 11,083 cases
Few symptoms of dengue are:Sudden high fever, severe headacheheadache, nausea, pain behind the eyes, severe joint and muscle pain, etc.
Warning sign of severe dengue include a drop in body temperature below normal 38 degree celcius.
